ABOUT ME

WHERE IT ALL STARTED
WIFE, MAMA, TEACHER & CLEAN LIVING EXPERT

I met my husband at a bar in San Diego. Classic right? 9 months later we were engaged, and 18 months later we were married. Our magical day took place in 2016 on Coronado Island. We welcomed our first baby less than a year after our wedding, and over the course of my pregnancy, I began researching clean baby products and how to eat healthier. Well, that harmless research turned into a tailspin of obsession with toxin free living, and before we knew it, we were putting hours into finding the safest flame retardant free carseat, and dye free treats for our daughter's first birthday party.

At the time, I was teaching special education and clean living was just a passion of mine, that I read about on nights and weekends. I created a Facebook group to connect with like minded moms around the world, who not only felt alone in motherhood as I did, but also understood the importance of clean living. â€‹

I started learning about how chemicals in our makeup, shampoo, nail polish and conditioner can affect hormones and our overall immune system functioning. I learned that everything we put onto our bodies can make its way into the developing fetus. I was floored and needed to learn more. I took a deep dive into the internet and realized the amount of information available was overwhelming. With a background in writing, science, and education, I knew I needed to better deliver information on nontoxic living, and support other mamas embarking on their own journey. I continued to share resources via social media and developed guides to help families. We then moved from California to Texas, documenting the whole thing!

After my third baby, I had a hard time keeping up with the demands of teaching special learners and attending weekly trainings and staff meetings. During my 10 years of teaching, I taught both special education and general education, grades K-6. I administered standardized assessments, wrote IEPs and Behavior Intervention Plans, and I trained staff to work with children that exhibited challenging behaviors. My classroom consisted of students with auditory processing disorders, Autism, speech and language impairments, English Language Learners, Down Syndrome, Tourette's syndrome, Emotional Disturbance, and more. I had made my mark in the teaching world and felt at peace leaving the classroom.

I became a stay at home mom and focused my energy on raising our family. Not long after we had our fourth baby in 2024, I felt teaching calling me back. This time I wanted to invest my time and energy into my own children. My husband and I weren't happy with both the private and public school experience our daughter was having. Homeschooling was the calling I was waiting for. After a hard year personally, deciding to homeschool gave me a new purpose aside from motherhood and brought our family closer together - not to mention our kids love it!

So, here I am balancing all the things, and taking you along the ride. I'm so happy you're here, and I can't wait to be the inspiration you and your family need, in both nontoxic living and in homeschooling. Even if you don't homeschool, you can utilize supplementary learning materials for tutoring at home. Being able to educate your child is a special gift, and I have a wealth of information that can help. You got this! Let's be the change we wish to see in the world.
